Team manager Andrea Marconi will bring his five athletes to the Island’s stage race: Medvedev, De Bruin, Karasiovaite, Menghetti and Toccafondi
Aritzo (Italy), May 22nd, 2024 – Alexey Medvedev and the DMT Racing Team will take in 10th Rally di Sardegna MTB. The team managed by Andrea Marconi has confirmed their presence at the event scheduled next August 28th to 31st 2024, part of the UCI – Union Cycliste Internationale calendar. Five athletes from the DMT Racing Team are will be on the Rally di Sardegna MTB starting line: Alexey Medvedev, Wim De Bruin, Greta Karasiovaite, Mattia Toccafondi and Peter Menghetti.
The star is Alexey Medvedev, two-time European Marathon champion, former king of the Alpentour (an iconic world-class race) and winner of the III La Leyenda de Tartessos this year. In 2023 he was also runner up at the Five Continents Stage Race Costa Blanca and the Alpentour Trophy. A big gun of the Marathon events, Medvedev candidate to be an absolute protagonist of the Rally di Sardegna MTB.
Wim De Bruin, 26, was bronze medallist at the Dutch national championships two years ago. Sixth in the Far West Race in March, he grazed the Watersley XCO Challenge Top 10 last month. Fresh national Marathon champion (and several times queen of XCO), Greta Karasiovaite was ninth last year at the Hero Sudtirol Dolomites. In her career she boasts a podium and Top 10 placings in the World Cup.
The other two athletes of the DMT Racing Team are Italian Mattia Toccafondi and Peter Menghetti.
The Rally di Sardegna MTB will unfold on a route exploring the Sardinia’s heart in the territories of Aritzo, Belvi, Desulo, Tonara, Seulo, Sadali and Seui.
