Aritzo (Italy), May 28th, 2024 – The MTB Special One is coming to the heart of Sardinia. A few days after the XCO World Cup event in Nove Mesto na Morave, the Rally di Sardegna MTB is pleased to announce the participation of Czech Jaroslav Kulhavy, who had achieved the premiere of the “home” race (2011) eventually become a classic of the international calendar. Olympic champion in London, winner of world and continental titles both in cross country and marathon, Kulhavy will stand among the stars of Sardinia’s stage race scheduled next August 28th to 31st.

Back to competitions this year with the Superior brand, the Czech will add another flag to his personal world tour. Both the pleasure of discovery and the mission to promote the discipline to which he gave everything and which gave him everything back, pushed Kulhavy to return on the saddle, after his retirement announced in 2022. “It will be a great pleasure for me to return to Italy – says Kulhavy – and it will be fantastic to visit Sardinia, an island I have never been to, but which the whole world talks about with enthusiasm. We won’t be exactly on the famous beaches, but I have been told about places of great charm, even more beautiful to discover on a mountain bike “.
What a roll of honor: Olympic champion in 2012
Kulhavy can boast in his roll of honor the Olympic title in London 2012 and the silver medal in Rio de Janeiro, the world titles both in cross country (Champéry 2011) and the marathon (Pietermaritzburg 2014), besides 7 World Championships’ podium spots, an overall success (2011) and three final podiums in the World Cup and several European titles in both disciplines. Kulhavy also won the Cape Epic three times, between 2013 and 2018, paired with Christoph Sauser.
